Southfield School

Since 1934, our talented and experienced faculty has cultivated curiosity, character, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning in each of our students. Around here, we do things a little differently, and it’s one of the reasons we have more than 85 years of outstanding outcomes. We have a proven method that works.

Our Staff

Clare Coburn / 2nd Grade Director 

Clare is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a BS in Early Childhood Education. She joined Southfield in 1990 as the Preschool Director and as a Preschool teacher. Clare left the classroom in 1997 to add the position of Admissions Director to her responsibilities. 

She became the full-time Admissions Director and Parent Relations Director in 2005 before transitioning back to Preschool as the Director in 2019. Clare has more than 30 years experience in education and three children who graduated from Southfield.
