About
TechyKids

Techykids is a hub for kids to be inspired with a blend of robotics, creativity, technology, and invention. We are he US distributor for the Thymio educational robot and contains student projects created with the TechyKids Learning System. Educators can also use the original and kid tested curriculum to power their classrooms. Kids can learn online or participate in on of our programs in the Bay Area!

During Summer, we offer a Summer Camp for Robotics Programming & Invent Your Own Working Product. Thymio is a versatile and fun robot with 20 sensors, 2 motors, and 39 LEDs. It’s the perfect platform for an endless amount of projects and creativity. First, get started with the easy to learn visual programming language as you learn to program behaviors. Then we’ll advance to learn what ‘if then’ statements are and how to read and modify real code! We’ll be doing a variety of projects from programming a robot pet with personality, to having Thymio follow a path, solving a maze, to creating a musical instrument.

Our son absolutely loved TechyKids summer camp! He was excited to go everyday and really got into it. He learned how to use the VPL and written code to program the Thymio robot. After camp, we ended up bringing a Thymio home and our son taught his younger sister how to use the VPL and they made a project together. Win for the whole family! Sharon is clearly very passionate about teaching kids programming with Thymio and her enthusiasm inspires the kids.
