First Tee – Silicon Valley develops youth through golf. We enable kids and teens to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, we create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. We make our programs accessible to youth of different backgrounds and perspectives and affordable to families experiencing financial hardship.

My son, 6 has been with The First Tee for 3 Sessions. And truly enjoys every time he has a First Tee lesson.
On his first 9 hole Tournament he hit 60 stokes and end last one. Did not cry -Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility-, shook the hand of the other golfers -Sportsmanship-, and as soon as he arrived home took the 7 iron and started practicing -Perseverance-. On his second 9 hole Tournament he hit 42 strokes and end 2nd. He was very happy, yet not competitive, and was able to compliment and develop friendships with the other players. We attribute this behavior to the Nine Core Values learned at The First Tee.

Indeed, golf is a sport that he loves to play; and he plays it rather well.
However, The First Tee is not about how well you can play golf; it is about how you can play life.
It is easy to recognize a First Tee kid who has spent as little as one season soaking in the nine core values and life lessons that are taught through the game of golf.
Give it a try. Your child will have fun AND be learning important life skills at the same time.

My 6 year old son is currently on his second session at the Gavilan Golf Course in Gilroy. I am thouroughly impressed with this organization and all the staff thus far. Coach Craig and Coach Manny work so well with the kids and are one of the many reasons my son wanted to come back for a second session.
There are so many positives with this organization: It's a great value compared to other extra curricular activities. Your child will not only learn the game of golf along with proper etiquette, but will also learn important life skills that are reinforced at each practice and at home with some light homework.
I can not say enough good things about The First Tee. My son really looks forward to golf each week, and is learning so much. I know that he has found his passion! Thanks First Tee for making the game of golf such a positive experience for my son.
