Urban STEAM Lab
Urban STEAM Lab is a place where kids, teens, and adults can get messy, ask hard questions, and explore their curiosity. Most importantly, it is a place to nurture your inner scientist through hands-on projects, guided activities, and interactive workshops.
But this isn’t your average science class. Here, we think about how science and technology affect people. We integrate our lessons with the community and use science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) to understand the world immediately around us. Greater still, our budding scientists learn how to create their own community of collaborators and partners.
Our Staff
Alexia Seba-Robles, Founder
Alexia graduated with her B.S. in physics and mathematics from Portland State University. Currently a graduate student at Teachers College at Columbia University, Alexia studies brain development and response to educational programming. She hopes to shape curricula and teaching methods to meet children’s developmental needs and milestones with the goal of better preparing our students for learning.
