Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1
If your student is interested in learning more about robotics, programming, or technology in general, Valkyrie ADVANCE is the answer. Our curriculum is designed by current professionals in both mechanical and software engineering, including engineers at Amazon and Intel, and each of our instructors has no fewer than three years of competitive robotics experience. At ADVANCE, your students will learn real-world skills through designing and programming on the Arduino microcontroller platform; each day, students will learn a new topic, have a chance to experiment, and finally apply it to their robot as it develops. Our goal is to give each and every student the chance to build a real, physical robot, no matter their initial level of skill.
Over the course of five days, students will learn core skills in programming, strategy, and mechanical design, working together in small groups to build competitive robots for an online competition at the end of the week.
Every student will be assigned to a group of three students to work with over the week. Together, they will decide on a strategy to approach the presented problem, build their robot frame and electronic wiring out of provided parts and components, program the design to complete the challenge, and compete with the other teams at the end of the week. Unlike our competitors, ADVANCE gives students the chance to get hands-on experience with real tools used in industry.
