Playgineering with Legos! Castle Turrets
Let's Playgineer "Building Turrets of Castles " with Legos!
These short On-Demand segments are 1 - 5 minute excerpts from our 30 - 60 minute class and camp sessions of our Fungineering and Playgineering programs. Overall, the prep and set-up plus the video and building all the models will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. If you are interested in our 30 - 60 live online classes or camps, check out our other Fungineering and Playgineering listings https://www.activityhero.com/biz/the-roc-network-for-learning, or email us at admin@TheROCnetworkforLearning.org.
This On-Demand segment is part of our Playgineering and Fungineering series that uses the Engineer's Process to create scenes with Technic and regular Legos and other materials through design, construction, robotics and play.
In this segment, in addition to highlighting key features that define turrets of castles, we provide step-by-step instructions for building turrets using 2x4 and 2x2 Lego bricks that are able to interlock-style attach to the walls of the castle that we build in different On-Demand segments in our series.
Other segments in our Building a Castle series:
Building Interlocking Walls (FREE)
Key Parts of a Castle (FREE)
How Do We Know it's a Castle? (FREE)
Building a Castle building scene
Building a Mechanized Mover Crane
Building a Mechanized Draw Bridge

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE ROC's PLAYGINEERING & FUNGINEERING SERIES AVAILABLE ON-DEMAND
We have a lot of fun thinking like engineers and building things. So that’s why we call it Fungineering!
And we also call it Playgineering because we play while we build, with what we build!
Through building models or mechanized machines with wood, household items or with Lego® components, students are kept busy Fungineering! - exploring concepts and enhancing knowledge of physics, technology, and engineering.
These hands-on, online classes use the Engineer's Process to focus students' understanding through imagining and constructing scenes and stories that go with their models; so creating a bakery to go with the mixer model they make, or a boat to be wheeled to shore with the mechanized crane they assemble, or a barn to store the grain produced by the windmill they build, and much more...
Learning principles of science underlying the models and accompanying environment and scenes built provides an engaging way for students to explore important STEM concepts and enhance their knowledge of simple machines, physics, technology, mechanics, architecture, design, data analysis and visualization, problem solving or more.
You can use your own materials or Supply sets can be provided by us for an additional $20 - $75 depending on which activity is being booked. Purchasing materials is optional and can be shipped to US addresses, or delivered in the local Manhattan (possibly other NYC) area(s).

In this segment, in addition to explaining key engineering concepts, we provide step-by-step instructions for building interlocking walls using Lego bricks. The walls are able to fit together at 90 degree angles when completed. Building the walls separately, but with interlocking capabilities provide perfect elements for Playgineering our "Building a Castle" scene where our minifigures get to work lifting, moving and connecting these walls with help from a mechanized mover crane that was built in a different On-Demand segment of this series.
