THURSDAYS - Sewing with Knit Fabrics- 60 minutes class
Pre-requisite: Intro to Machine Sewing - Ciclo 101 or having participated in one of our previous camps.
Cost: -Whole semester (14 dates)
Schedule: Thursday 4:15pm-5:15pm
Ages: Kids age 8 years old and up

DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
During this class students will learn the difference between knit and woven fabrics, and the different stitches needed. Learn the difference about sewing machine needles and how to replace and change them. Learn to pin correctly and use a simple pattern. Hem edges of knit fabrics with zig zag stretch stitch with the correct seam allowance, how to sew a casing for elastic waistbands and how to sew elastic bands directly into fabrics. These skills lay a strong foundation to build on with future sewing projects. In this class, students will complete 4 to 6 projects during the semester that includes a variety of projects like beanies, pants, skirts, shorts, shirts, dresses, jumpsuits, blankets, scarves, etc.
Intro to machine sewing is a pre-requisite for this class, there is the option for students to show.
We work with pre-loved clothes and discarded textiles. All materials are included for this class.
