Does paddling your own, or a shared, kayak, exploring the many aspects of Alviso Slough, sound fun!? Join us for 5 days of unforgettable skill-building kayaking fun!

We will only Kayak out in the morning due to safety reasons.

Expert instructors lead action-packed camps filled with hands-on outdoor skills on the historic Alviso Slough at the south of the San Francisco Bay. This camp is for both beginning and experienced kayakers.  Campers have five days to practice kayaking

Following a successful swim test, and using a sit-on-top double kayaks, you will learn the basic strokes to make your kayak go forwards, backwards, and even sideways!

In CPMentorship's kayak class, campers work together as a team on the water. Campers will learn new skills every day, including paddling, safety on the water, reading tides, planning trips, and performing kayak rescues.  Students learn to respect the water, understanding it as a trail to adventure and connection to nature. Nature awareness and animal tracking develop empathy and critical thinking. Working in a Mariners team cultivates cooperation and leadership. Paddling builds focus and physical confidence and inspires a lifelong love of the outdoors.

While paddling, campers will likely see harbor seals, swimming shrimp, jumping fish, great blue herons, sometimes golden eagles, and many bird and animal species that frequent the South Bay Area’s waterways. By seeing the bay up close, students will have a much greater appreciation for the things that make it such a special environment.

My son absolutely loved this camp. He raved about the kayaking, loved the location, and loved the food. Definitely he'll be going back next year.
