CIRCUIT SCIENCE - Tuesday, January 28
Students learn the basics of circuits and electricity as they create their own paper circuits with copper tape and LED lights.

FINGERPRINT ANALYSIS - Tuesday, February 4
This week we study the biology of fingerprints as we examine our own fingerprints patterns and practice powder and chemical methods of recovering fingerprint evidence.

SECRET BINARY CODES - Tuesday, February 11
This week we learn how programmers use computational thinking to solve problems and practice deciphering codes and puzzles.

MONET’S WATER LILLIES - Tuesday, February 25
This week, students discover how different species of water lilies inspired one of history's most famous artists and conduct an experiment to make these aquatic flowers bloom before their eyes.

AIRPLANE PHYSICS - Tuesday, March 11
Students learn about forces and motion as we create awesome paper airplanes, and experiment to see how different designs effect a planes aerodynamics.

MAGIC AND OPTICAL ILLUSIONS - Tuesday, March 18
Students investigate how science is the secret to real magic tricks and optical illusions as they learn about their brain eyes and try out some simple tricks of their own.

LEGO STEM CHALLENGE - Tuesday, March 25
Students work through the engineering design process as they conduct engineering challenges that help people and solve real life problems.

WATERCOLOR AGATE - Tuesday, April 1
This week, students explore how colorful agates are formed and use chemistry and creativity to make their own paper agates to take home.

BOAT DESIGN - Tuesday, April 15
Students test Archimedes’ Principle as they are challenged to create different types of boats that float, and experiment to see how much weight different designs can hold.

SYMMETRY IN NATURE- Tuesday, April 22
This week, students discover all of the surprising places bilateral and radial symmetry occur in nature as the create their own scientific illustrations.

RUBE GOLDBERG CONTRAPTIONS- Tuesday, April 29
Students increase their understanding of motion and forces this week as they use their imaginations and variety of materials to build different Rube Goldberg contraptions.

BEE HOTELS - Tuesday, May 6                                                                                                         Students learn about the importance of bees and other pollinators, investigate differences between solitary and colonial bees, and build a bee hotel for our pollinating insects.

It was really great! We had 4 girls from our troop together and were able to assist the smaller one. There were 2 items that were called for that weren’t on the list of supplies: marker and scissors—so we had to scramble for them at the end. We made it work and have no real complaints!

My daughter has really enjoyed the classes she’s taken over the past couple of weeks through Activity Hero! She has a big love for all ocean creatures, and these classes have been both engaging and fun for her. The instructors do a great job keeping kids interested and excited to learn more. We’re so happy to have found something that fuels her curiosity and passion.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for your message. It depends on which program you are inquiring about. Our Young Explorers classes (3-5 year olds) require parent participation during class. Parents sometimes stay for the first week of homeschool classes, and during Girl Scout workshops as well. Parents do not stay for after-school programs, Parents' Night Out or our camps. Hopefully, I covered the program you are interested in. If not, please let me know so I can clarify. Thanks for your interest, Tonya -
