Discover Science Center
Fun, informal, hands-on education. Discover Science Center is an informal science education enrichment lab whose purpose is to supplement the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) curriculum taught in K-12 schools and homeschool programs.
Our programs were developed by scientists and science educators, and take advantage of the natural fascination students have with science. Knowledge development, hands-on-learning, experimentation and creative activities are interwoven into each fun-filled session.

Thanks for your interest in our workshop. The kit includes a petri dish, pipet, graduated cup, skittles, cornstarch, heart beads, spoon, cookie cutter and patch. Not sure you will be able to get all of those things. A better option would be for you to register for the on-demand Valentine's Mad Science workshop - that way you can watch the video whenever the kit arrives. My girls are enrolled in the upcoming First Aid Class on 7/19. And we wanted to get some clarification on what is in or required to purchase for the First Aid Workshop Kit. One of my other GS moms enrolled her daughter in the Brownie First Aid class and since the link was not sent until the night before was caught off guard that certain supplies like a first aid kit etc. were needed for the class. I have looked every where for the supply list within the class registration and can't locate it. I just want to make sure the girls are prepared. Please advise. Thank you in advance. E. Jacobs

Thanks for your question. We send the link the day before the workshop because we have had problems with parents forwarding the meeting link to people that are not registered. Sending the link close to the workshop date has minimized this problem. There is no kit for the First Aid Girl Scout Workshop on July 19th. The Brownie badge requires a first aid kit to be put together, and we supplied the materials for that requirement. I am sorry your friend did not see the details in the workshop description or the shipping prompt during registration. The only thing your girls will need is a pencil and paper, and they will be challenged to search the room they are in to find something they can use as a splint, but that is meant to be last-minute to simulate an emergency situation. Hope that helps. -
