VIDEO GAME DESIGN (ages 8-11) – Online Workshop
Saturday, May 15 - 3:30-5:00pm (eastern time)
Ages 8-11

Kids learn basic coding commands and understand the importance of syntax in making a program properly execute as they learn to code a shareable game app, then customize game elements to make it their own. Designed for students with very little to no line-by-line programming experience - they will be typing in all of the code. Use of a computer is needed for this workshop.

**Cub Scout Connection: Participating Webelos/AOL work on requirements (1,3,4) toward their Game Design Adventure. Please make sure their Cyber Chip is up to date for requirement 2.

Location: ONLINE. Zoom link will be emailed around 8pm the night before the workshop, or log in to your ActivityHero account and click on “Join Meeting” in the My Registrations section to participate.

It was great! My daughter loves these classes. She really enjoyed the shark class. The girls were very informative and engaging. It's getting more difficult to find online classes for older girl scouts. So we try to attend when we see them.

Wonderful program, we also really love the after school program, and this was the first time we’ve done the summer camp. Our kiddo loved Ocean Science! My only issue is the start time at 8:30 (vs 8:00 for others we do) makes it really hard to do this.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for your message. It depends on which program you are inquiring about. Our Young Explorers classes (3-5 year olds) require parent participation during class. Parents sometimes stay for the first week of homeschool classes, and during Girl Scout workshops as well. Parents do not stay for after-school programs, Parents' Night Out or our camps. Hopefully, I covered the program you are interested in. If not, please let me know so I can clarify. Thanks for your interest, Tonya -
