Ice Skating Classes for skaters of all ages & abilities! Our classes in Inver Grove Heights, MN will teach you how to ice skate if you are a beginner, challenge you with new classes once you've progressed past the beginner levels, and we even have advance figure skating and hockey skating skill classes! Plus, there are classes geared specifically to Teens and Adults so there is a class for everyone! Classes are positive, engaging and are progressive so skaters are always learning something new!
Classes begin Sunday January 7th from 4:30-6:30 pm and Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm. Classes are purchased as a "package," and that way if you are ever gone, you will have lots of make-up options!
*Ice Explorers- for skaters ages 2-4 years old who need to take their time being introduced to the ice!
*Snowplow Sam 1-4- classes for preschool age skaters that are geared towards play and independence on the ice! Classes are for skaters ages 3-6 years old. All skaters begin in Snowplow Sam 1, and once they pass that level, they move up to Snowplow Sam 2, then Snowplow Sam 3, and then Snowplow Sam 4!
*Basic 1- for skaters ages 7-12 years old who have never skated before or who've never taken formal lessons before!
*Basic 2-6- for skaters who have passed Basic 1 and who are working their way up the levels!
*Teen Skate- for skaters ages 13-17 years old. Whether you are just learning to skate or are doing figure skating jumps and spins this class is for you! Learn skating skills with other teenagers! Class is split into smaller groups once we see everyone's skating abilities!
*Adult Learn to Skate- for skaters ages 18 years old and up! Whether you have always wanted to learn how to skate and haven't mustered up the time or courage yet, or whether you want to skate like you did as a youth or you may still have some great skating skills, this class is for any adults! It's never too late to skate or to improve! The class will be split into smaller groups so we can cater the class to what skaters need!
*Hockey 1-4- for skaters who want to learning skating skills that will help their hockey game! These classes focus on developing power and essential hockey skating skills. Skaters must have passed SS 4 or Basic 2 to join this class!
*Aspire- for aspiring figure skaters who want to focus on learning jumps, spins and other cool tricks that figure skaters do! This class includes a floor and on-ice class. Skaters in this class will also get the opportunity to skate in a special number for our holiday ice show!
All skaters must provide their own ice skates and helmets to join classes. If you'd like more info about buying skates, please come to our open house in the West Rink at the Veteran's Memorial Community Center on Sat Jan 6, 2024 at 4:45 pm, and we will have gently used skates available to purchase. You can also come to our open house to open skate for free~ bring your family & friends! You can also meet instructors and also just receive more info about ice skating and our classes!
All skaters must have a membership with Learn to Skate USA! You only need to pay for the membership once annually, and it meets insurance mandates, and allows skaters to earn badges, receive a record book and fun magazine and other skating opportunities!

She has taught both my daughters in group classes. My older daughter is now taking lessons with her privately. The younger one is playing hockey.
She is warm and caring, and an excellent motivator. She really cares about all of her students and makes learning how to skate fun! Her deep knowledge of skating and how to effectively teach children to skate is evidenced in the daily interaction with her students.
