Overview

While most schools are currently still using distance learning, we have launched our Distance Learning Pods to assist parents with the school year until in-person classes resume. Each location will host a pod with a maximum of 12 students and we will be following the Health & Safety protocols as directed by state/city guidelines. We will provide laptops, supervision, homework help, and assistance with virtual meetings. Depending on each student’s schedule, we can fill in gaps with our coding and typing curriculum along with some free time.

Note: A minimum number of 6 students is required

Update for COVID-19

New Health & Safety Procedures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19

  1. Temperature Checks prior to entry.

  2. Verbal Symptom Check prior to entry.

  3. Hand washing/sanitizer upon entry/exit and throughout the day.

  4. Self Check-In/Out is no longer allowed & will be handled by a teacher.

  5. Reduction of class sizes to allow for 6 feet of social distancing between students, except for students in the same household.

  6. Face masks / Face coverings to be worn by anyone entering the building at all times, except for eating or drinking.  Face masks with exposed respirator valves will not be allowed without a secondary covering.

  7. One student per workstation and students will not be allowed to touch each other’s equipment.

  8. Workstations will be disinfected after each student leaves for the day and between users.

  9. Frequently touched areas will be disinfected throughout the day.

  10. If a child is exhibiting symptoms of an illness during the session, that child will be isolated and their parents will be called for pick-up.

  11. Additional health & safety signage will be placed throughout as a reminder

  12. Toys, games, and puzzles that require sharing will be removed and individual items will be disinfected between users.

  13. Communal water dispensers will be off-limits to students and visitors, so students should bring their own water/beverage.

  14. For our locations that have access to a local park, we will no longer go to the park for lunch for the time being.  We may instead take the students for a walk around the area to get some fresh air.

  15. For drop-offs & pick-ups, we ask that parents or whoever is picking up their child(ren) wait at the entrance 6 feet apart and the teacher will bring their child(ren) to them.  If they need to enter, they will be subject to the same requirements as the students.

I was able to sign up for this camp last minute when our schedule changed. It was a great option for our Minecraft-loving daughter. They also brushed up her typing skills and basic coding. I also appreciated they were flexible when I had to pick her up a few minutes late. If you’re ok with it being entirely online and limited outside time, would recommend it.

Our son really enjoyed learning about coding and making Minecraft mods. He wasn't too keen on the typing part, but I'm glad to hear that they practiced typing every day and were evaluated, since it's an important skill to develop.

The class gave our son hours and hours of valuable hands-on coding experience. He didn't want to learn coding before this class; now, he can't get enough of it!
